Appi Kogen

Appi Kogen is one of northern Honshu's premier ski destinations, located in Iwate Prefecture approximately 450km north of Tokyo. With a substantial 765-meter vertical drop (540m-1305m), the resort offers impressive terrain variety across 21 runs serviced by 18 lifts. What makes Appi particularly special for international visitors is its reliable Siberian powder snow, receiving an average of 800cm annually, combined with significantly fewer crowds than Japan's more famous resort areas in Hokkaido and Nagano.
