Shizukuishi

Shizukuishi is a mid-sized ski resort located in Iwate Prefecture in northern Japan, offering 11 runs serviced by 5 lifts across an elevation range of 370 to 1,050 meters. With an impressive 700cm of annual snowfall, the resort benefits from the reliable powder conditions that Japan's northern regions are famous for, providing excellent snow quality throughout the winter season.

What makes Shizukuishi particularly appealing to international visitors is its combination of varied terrain suitable for different ability levels and the availability of night skiing, allowing guests to maximize their time on the slopes. The 680-meter vertical drop provides good variety for a resort of this size, while its location in Iwate Prefecture offers a more authentic, less crowded alternative to busier resort areas. The resort serves as an excellent base for exploring the natural beauty and cultural attractions of northern Japan while enjoying quality skiing conditions.
